There are more foreign-born residents in the United States today \u2014 42.4 million in 2014 \u2014 than at any other point in history.<\/li>\n
Immigration in recent decades has not been dominated by three or four countries as it was in the early 20th century. <\/li>\n
\nThe proportion of foreign-born residents in the United States was 13.3 percent in 2014, approaching a level last seen in 1910, when the proportion of foreign-born residents reached 14.8 percent. <\/li>\n
