A road surveyor<\/a>, wearing a reflective vest, was struck and killed by driver as he was standing in a striped, restricted area separating the inside lane from traffic merging onto I-95 in Pompano Beach. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver crossed into the striped area to get around slower traffic when he struck the 59-year-old worker. The accident remains under investigation; no charges have been filed. According to traffic records, a man with the same name and age as the negligent driver has had two speeding tickets and two careless driving citations since 2009.<\/p>\n In this case, family members of the deceased may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the negligent driver, as well the parties in charge of the construction project who has the obligation to make sure that all safety precautions are in place.
