<\/a>One of the recent headlines on Yahoo News was a story that playground concussions<\/a> are on the rise.<\/p>\n You might be surprised to find that I think this is great news.\u00a0 Why?<\/p>\n I don’t think the actual number of concussions are rising.\u00a0 Instead, I think parents and school nurses and such are getting much better at looking for and diagnosing concussions.<\/p>\n This diagnoses is important.\u00a0 I not only see kids affected with brain injuries in my practice, but I’ve watched my own kid struggle with a concussion.<\/p>\n These are serious injuries that need to be treated seriously.\u00a0 But they can’t be properly treated if they’re not diagnosed.<\/p>\n There are also potential legal aspects in these claims.\u00a0 For example, depending on the circumstances, a playground injury may give rise to a claim or lawsuit against:<\/p>\n One of the recent headlines on Yahoo News was a story that playground concussions are on the rise.
