Walsh, Esq., Littman Krooks LLP <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n By now, parents\u00a0have heard the news.\u00a0 On December 10, 2015, President Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act (\u201cESSA<\/strong>\u201d)<\/a>, which reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and replaces the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (\u201cNCLB\u201d).\u00a0 This represents a positive development for all students and gives states more flexibility in how to implement standardized assessments for children and continue to set high standards. \u00a0\u00a0 In truth, however, ESSA does not dramatically change the federal emphasis on standardized testing.<\/p>\n By Marion M.
