According to a study
\nthat was published in JAMA Neurology, people who are genetically
\ninclined to develop Alzheimer\u2019s, but who attended college, were
\nemployed in complex occupations, and remained intellectually
\nchallenged, delayed contracting the disease nearly 10 years longer
\nthan others.\n<\/p>\n

The study also found
\nthat those who pursued intellectual activities, including reading or
\nplaying music, and maintained an active and healthy mind as they grew
\nolder, postponed the onset of Alzheimer\u2019s by years if they were at
\nrisk of developing the disease and did not attend college or work at
\ncomplex jobs. These results show that intellectual stimulation over
\nyour lifetime<\/a> can greatly reduce the likelihood that you will develop
\nAlzheimer\u2019s.\n<\/p>\n
