It was just before 10 a.m. when a motorcyclist, heading down 10th Street near Q Avenue in Texas Township, Michigan, crashed into a FedEx truck that had pulled into his path. The 36-year-old rider was unable to change his trajectory, and struck the driver\u2019s side of the truck. The biker was later pronounced dead on the scene. <\/p>\n
Police reports indicate that the rider was not wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n
The FedEx truck, driven by a 34-year-old Kalamazoo woman, was heading northbound on 10th Street. She had stopped at the Q Avenue intersection before proceeding, but did not see the motorcycle. The truck driver was not injured in the accident.<\/p>\n
Most accidents involving a motorcycle and another vehicle are caused by the driver and not the biker. Many drivers involved in motorcycle-related accidents report that the accident occurred because they had not seen the biker.
