The accident happened when the driver of the pick-up truck suddenly lost control, crossed into the turn lane, then into the inside westbound lane before swerving into the outside westbound lane and hitting the Taurus head-on. The woman was killed instantly; two children, an 8- and 11-year old, in her car were not seriously injured. All involved were wearing seat belts.
