An Illinois widow has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a psychiatrist, claiming improper treatment of her husband’s depression contributed to his suicide.<\/p>\n
Robin Lynn, as Special Administrator of the Estate of Bradley Lynn, filed the lawsuit on June 21 in Madison County Circuit Court.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, Bradley Lynn sought treatment from a specialist in psychiatry and neurology for suicidal tendencies. Lynn’s wife claims that the psychiatrist failed to properly diagnose him with bi-polar disorder and failed to properly monitor him while he was prescribed medication.<\/p>\n
The lawsuit alleges that Bradley Lynn’s depression became worse and he committed suicide several weeks after beginning treatment. Lynn’s wife accuses the psychiatrist of negligence in failing to recognize the seriousness of his disorder. The wrongful death lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $225,000 for medical expenses and costs of the lawsuit.<\/p>\n
