Counterfeit Surgical Screws Used in Spinal Fusions in Texas

The CEO of Spinal Solutions amassed a $22 million fortune by selling surgical screws for use in spinal fusions.  At one point, his company owned three corporate jets and flew spinal surgeons to Vail, Co. and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico for all-expense paid vacations. The company was known for its lavish strip club spending sprees and its purchase of court-side season tickets for the L.A. Lakers games.   Plaintiffs’ attorneys have now discovered that many patients who received surgical screws from Spinal Solutions actually got counterfeit screws which have caused complications, pain, and uninvited worry. The surgeries took place in California, Nevada, Texas, Wisconsin and Maryland.   Read the fascinating story about greed and temptation in the lucrative medical device industry here.
