In two separate incidents at the same railroad crossing in Meridian Township, Michigan, alleged drunk drivers were arrested after their cars were struck by trains. Both drivers narrowly escaped being hit themselves.
The drivers, a 22-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, were both allegedly driving drunk and ignored signs indicating that a road was closed. According to police, they tried to cross the railroad tracks but got stuck and abandoned their cars before the train came through, demolishing the vehicles.
