Everybody Needs Health Insurance Whether They Think So Or Not

There are more people than you might think that do not have health insurance in America. They think they do not need it.

People, without a doubt, need health insurance. Yes, even if they think they cannot afford it. If they find themselves in an emergency, not having health insurance will cost them a big bundle; big enough they may not be able to pay it. Let’s face it – life is unpredictable. You could be just fine one moment and fall the next, breaking a leg.

Or you could be accident free for years and proud of it, when a drunk driver runs a red light and T-bones you. If you make it out alive, you may have such severe injuries that your road to recovery is going to be long and expensive. Nothing in the health system today is reasonably priced.

The main reason you do so need health insurance is that if you do not have it, you will not be able to pay the bills. If you do have it, a large portion of what you need to have covered will be covered. It is really just that simple. So saying that you do not have health insurance because you are saving the money does not hold water, and here is why.

Even if you do have some money saved up, if you need medical care, it will wipe you out financially. So, really, what have you saved? The answer is you have saved nothing, because not only with the bills clean out your bank account, they will be higher than what you may have socked away. If you want something to fall back on, should you end up in an accident or break a bone, you need health insurance to provide you with timely medical care and pay the bills in case you are sick for a long time.

You do not have to get a policy with all the bells and whistles, unless you want to. Research what is online and make a list of the benefits you will derive from having health insurance, even if it costs you a bit extra a month. For instance, you cannot argue with the fact that health insurance saves mega bucks by paying for the care you need, provides you with a medical security blanket, covers hospitalization and medical bills and disability. And here is a small tip: did you know that you can get tax benefits for your premiums under section 80D of the Income Tax Act?

In reality, it pays you to have health insurance. That’s food for thought.
