Maternity Leave Difficult but Not Impossible to Obtain

Maternity leave is available for most women/men who work for a company that provides health insurance as a benefit for their employees. This type of leave is covered under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

The act requires “certain” employers to offer parenting, family and medical leave for “qualified” employees. Those who are qualified may have up to 12 weeks unpaid leave.

To find out if there is a way that you can qualify for maternity benefits coverage, contact your local licensed health insurance agent.
