Opt out and opt in provisions are confusing although they are considered to be flexible in meeting your health insurance requirements. It’s just that you should ask for some help understanding the provisions so you don’t get caught unaware.
Right now, you are able to opt into Medicare supplements between November 15th of the prior year and December 31st. Then you’re locked in until the next opt out period arrives. This should “not” be confused with open enrollment, which is an entirely different thing. This is yet another reason to talk to an experienced health insurance agent.
The opt in process should be relatively easy, but there is always an exception or two.
