You should be aware that Medicare Plans E, H, I and J will all be cut, however those currently on those plans will be grandfathered in and stay on them. This might be good news on the surface; however if you look deeper, when those plans are done and those left become members of a “closed risk pool,” rates tend to go up.
Start shopping other plans now to avoid being left in a closed risk pool where your rates will go up. Two other plans with the designation of M and N will also be added, but the precise benefits are not yet clear.
